Who We Are
Our team has invested a lifetime into studying interventions and protective factors that enable women to have safe pregnancies, births, and postpartum periods. Under the leadership of founder, Professor Suellen Miller, our researchers promote care that improves women’s health, prevents maternal deaths, and protects women’s rights during pregnancy and childbirth. We currently work on postpartum hemorrhage management, cesarean section, obstetric fistula treatment, respectful maternity care, and other areas pertinent to quality maternal health care.
We share a common goal of conducting actionable research to improve the outcomes of mothers and children. We collaborate with teams in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. Explore our UCSF Team and Collaborating Researchers pages for more information.
